Meet Kim

Kim Withers is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience in the financial industry, specializing in financial cooperatives for more than 35 years. Her extensive background includes developing impactful programs aimed at aiding clients with mortgages, supporting new home buyers, and facilitating construction loans, commercial real estate transactions, and land ownership.

As the CEO of Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union, Kim oversaw the management of three branches in Laramie County and one in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Her leadership and innovative strategies in the credit union sector have not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Kim was honored by being inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders, and she has previously been named Credit Union Executive of the Year. Her pioneering efforts also earned her the distinction of being the first recipient of the “Wyoming’s Women of Influence” award in Banking and Finance in 2013.

Kim’s commitment extends beyond her professional achievements to significant community involvement. She has served on several boards including the Cheyenne Laramie County Joint Economic Powers Board, the Federal Reserve Community Depository Institution Advisory Council, and the Laramie County Friday Food Bag. Her dedication to community service is further demonstrated through her 16-year membership in the Rotary Club, where she has held various roles, including treasurer, and contributed to numerous initiatives such as Polio Plus and the chartering of the first East High School Rotaract Club.

Furthermore, Kim helped establish the Meridian Trust North Star Foundation, launching vital programs like the Childcare Initiative Grants and the HEAT – Heating and Energy Assistance Grants. She has also been a Girl Scout Leader and is currently a board member of the Cheyenne Frontier Day Old West Museum, a position she has held since 2020.

Kim is happily married to Scot, a retired member of the Wyoming National Guard, for over 32 years. Together, they have three adult children: Carolina, Grace, and Mark. The Withers family has been actively involved in FFA and 4-H for 20 years. Kim and Scot are also recognized for contributing to environmental conservation, receiving the Wyoming Conservation District Award for Outstanding Small Acreage Cooperative in 2016. An avid fisherman and beekeeper, Kim enjoys spending her free time engaged in outdoor activities.
